Never was much into hotlapping. Never thought there was any point.

But hotlapping in RACE07 is extremly fun. Competing aginst your ghost car, improving the racing line and honing the setup. I am eating my time below 2.12 now, lap by lap in the seat.I hated this track before, but now i come to know it and i like it. Just as i do with valencia

I put my shifter in sequence mode some time ago, but i change over it to H:pattern mode yesterday. It really makes a differnce.

Its soo sad we forfeit this wtcc racing here at SimHQ cause it is a extremly fun and nice online experience.

Some nice guidelines for setting up the car is availeable at: http://forum.racedepartment.com/setup-guides/ (They are mentioning some guides towards frontwheel drives!) I don't know if they put something new to the table except explaining power and coast in a new way (for me). And power really makes a difference in a seat!

And just to perhaps invoke "some" interest in this i link to racedepartments league race at Brno:

and here is some more info from RD!

(Finally i found some people liking this game! \:\) )

Thomas, I think Race07 is an excellent sim. I just 'like' the way the cars feel and react compared to other sims I have. The fact that you can just jump in and drive with the stock setups and be competitive without having to spend eons on tweaking every possible spring, nut and bolt on a car is a major plus in my book.

I just wish I had more time at the minute to spread my gaming time around more. The few pickup races I have done on public servers have for the most part been close door to door racing that are a helluva lot of fun and would like to run a few series.

You still racing at race connect Thomas or switched over to race department?

I also still like race 07, but when i've been driving the faster cars like the F1's and R'8's and then switch to the touring cars i have to spend lots of time readjusting to them. Also there's only so much time to devote to simracing.

If the main SimHQ series had been Race 07 and alot of people had signed up i'd definitely have participated. When it was first released i did join a league but some of the drivers would slam you off the track and the abuse and foul language between drivers on teamspeak was out of control \:D

The site you have linked looks good though Thomas, i had a browse and watched one of the videos, nice commentary and the race looked very close and clean. Glad to see you off that Xbox and back into simracing

My reference to the track above is Brno... The name was very vivid in my mind, not so on print! \:\)
(I don't think 2.12 says much without a track!)

I just joined up with race department. Hopefully they will accept my application into their leauge. They are doing pre-quals and then race in four groups saturday nights. There are harsh penalties if you do not declare your absence before a race in which you have qualified to. But even if there is penaltys for doing stuff wrong, most people seems to take their penaltys like men and don't make to much fuss about it. The organizers, are extremly polite nice and "there"... Most of them are members in racesimcentral to.

Race-connect is racing on a bad day for me. But I really liked them, would like to join them more. They are much smaller then race department, which seems to be the largest race07 group online. (they race gtr2, gtl, rfactor and arca too).

I am on the fence on joining to much until i know my place in the line when iRacing opens the door. They will start sending out another bunch of invites next week. I hope i am included and if i am i will probably spend much off my racing in that environment and complement it with the race07 league at RD (if i get to join them! (Lots of swedes \:\) ).

RD is about to (probably) start a FBMW league in race07. If i knew where i stood in the iRacing i line i would have make my interest clear.

I know steve. Racing a touring car or a f1/r8 car is different. For me, racing one lap in the f1 i long for a real car... and i end up in race.

I always end up in race.

I am simbin biggest fan boy.

;-)
