Lewis was always a plucky lad. We'd pack him up for school, tell him to watch both ways crossing the streets, mind your P's and Q's, and don't be smart with your teachers. But he would end up with the wrong kind of classmates, if you know what I mean, and be late getting home. Sometimes we didn't know where he was!
Call if you're going to be late, we'd say. Just so we know you're OK and not lying in a ditch somewhere.
And if you do get in an accident, we hope you have clean underwear on.
