Looks like you missed your apex. It WAS a driver's school you know...lol. If I recall that session, I had passed the red Miata already and was working over the girl in the Civic...and possibly passed her on the straight that followed this corner.

Wow...nice Weasy...
that second pic looks like you hit the nitrous or went into stealth mode when you compare it to the one above it.
I'm guessing that was a different lap..(After you passed her)

Mike Yeah Mike, the second pic is the very next lap and I was already long gone. I passed her at the next corner after the next straightaway. Apex goof or not I was setting up the pass by drifting wide a bit and staying on the right for the next corner after the straight. By the 2nd pic I couldn't even see the Civic or Miata in my mirrors anymore.

Nice pics Weas, looks like fun!
Reminds me a little of Billzilla's pics from racing in Germany.

Way to go Weas. I was thinking of how good that Neon would look in SimHQ colors, albeit please not the rainbow warriors paint scheme

Way to go Weas. I was thinking of how good that Neon would look in SimHQ colors, albeit please not the rainbow warriors paint scheme I'm actually thinking of getting a couple SimHQ Motorsports decals made up to put on the blue Neon we'll be running for the 24 hour event in August. Plus I still need to buy a driver suit (I borrowed my friends for the weekend) and am thinking of getting a patch made up for it too. That should look good for my picture on the podium with the champagne... ...after the winners leave the track.

Awesome pics, WK. Man, I think you are planting a bug that will get a lot of us wanting to do a driving school too.

Very cool pics. I am soooo jealous. I have been wanting to do a drivers school ever since going to Mid Ohio last year and learning that there was such a thing. Awesome!!

I'm hoping to maybe run at Mid Ohio this year. I have to do two regional races to turn in my Novice Permit for a regional license.

22-24 August is "The Longest Day of Nelson" 24 hour endurance race at Nelson Ledges, Ohio (near Younstown). So far we have three confirmed drivers, another who's dragging his feet to get his licensing stuff squared away, and another who's like me...has a Novice Permit and needs two races before Nelson (he also drives a Neon in the Indy Region). http://www.nelsonledges.com/LONGESTDAY.aspxTo get my stuff squared away I'll be running my first ever real race in Indianapolis at O'Reilly Raceway Park (used to be IRP) on 5 July. It's a special event hour long race set up because it's a leap year...lol. That will get one of my two races under my belt, plus get some endurance time in the car rather than the 25 minute sprints we ran at my school. http://indyscca.org/RaceFiles/entries/2008/Enduro%20Poster.pdfAnd then I'll be running a double regional event (two races) 26-27 July at Nelson Ledges, Ohio...using it as a required second race for my Regional License, and getting much needed track time at Nelson before the enduro in August.

When I checked at NoGrip earlier today, I could have sworn there was a brand new listing for a Nelson Ledges conversion for GTR2. When I checked back later, it was gone. I remembered the name of the person who'd converted it - an easy name to remember. Did a quick search, and found THIS

Yeah, I did a search a couple weeks ago and found that. The track mod isn't too bad, so hopefully it'll help out a bit. Now if somebody would do ORP/IRP road course (they have the ORP roundy round)...
