I downloaded this 757 a few days ago, been flying it a fair bit, here's some screens someone else took:
http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=147&topic_id=270736&mode=full

But I have a problem: mine won't let the AA livery show up:

Can you guys see any problems with the syntax of this .cfg? I'm at a loss to figure it out myself. the first one is the default white nondescript paint that came with the install. The American Airlines and Continental paints are what I've added, using their descriptions from their readme. All three from their own home site:
http://qualitysim.com/

For the last two days I've tried many attempts, looked at the .cfg so much I think I'm too close to it now, unable to see the forest for the trees. The plane itself is a thing of beauty, and flies well in it's white default livery, but the AA and CO texture variations aren't appearing in the sim in any form, they just aren't listed. So... anyone see a problem?

I don't know if this is related.

Whenever I select one of the white models from the default planes in FSX, I can't change to another. The white shows up no matter what I select, even if I go to another aircraft and come back. I've never tried flying one of these white models, so I don't know if it carries over into the sim.

Try putting the white model last in the list so that one of the other liveries comes up as default.

Yeah, it's a long shot.

Hello,

This my CFG for this model ... (I have some more skins \:\) )

All show good .....

It's the latest Beta version (must be the same as your)

This is in FS9 !

Are you sure the skins are well installed (I think it's some files to add to the repaints textures from the original blank if I remember .... like common textures)

Will send you my CO texture ! in the next message !

NOTA:

Have also to modify some lines in the contact points chapter of the CFG as the noze wheels were sinking in the ground !! when apply brakes.

Yeah, it's a long shot.

Ok, maybe this isn't such a long shot after all. I tried selecting the white Maule, then selected another Maule and clicked Fly Now. The white model showed up in both the rotating view on the main screen and on the runway when I entered the game, even though I had the Alaska Operator selected.

So I checked out the config file for the plane. Notice the white models have "texture=" with nothing after it? Other models have a texture name. I suspect for some installation configurations, this may cause problems.

Again, try swapping the white model to the end of the list and see if it doesn't make a difference.

Weird, sorry that didn't work for me. Neither did your nice suggestion, Hook!

You know, I'm wondering if I should download the liveries from whereever you guys downloaded them... I'm assuming Avsim.com? I downloaded just the two liveries that were at the Quality Wings website. Maybe those were not formated properly or something...

Oh, sorry!

I'm so tired, stressed... final days of a business plan... so many pieces of info to bring together into a slightly plausible concept! Spreadsheets, guesses of costs, contract frequency, equipment costs, fuel and vehicle costs... ugh. It'll pay off though.

I won't even have time to fly it for another day or two...

Say, are you guys having trouble getting it to climb above 30k feet, and not have insane fuel burn? Are the spoilers not slowing you down, even if they dump lift? I'm doing comparison flying, and I have to say, right now Mike Stone's 757 seems to fly more realistically IMO to that of Posky and QualityWings, even though both of those are nicer models. QualityWings model is... outstanding IMO, easily the best 757 3d visual I've ever seen anywhere!

PS: I KNOW THIS IS A BETA, and the dynamics are not close to final. I'm just asking your opinion of how they are right now.

Ok, I have had much better luck with actually merging the Quality Wings model into Mike Stone's Version 2 Boeing 757, and then added a nice panel (Ken Mitchel) and sound pack. When I get a much better vid card, I'll be able to use a very fancy freeware panel, but 'tiss a 37 meg panel so I'll maybe wait!!!

Now, since this is a merge, and QualityWings is a company... I can't post the .cfg anywhere. However, if someone REALLY desperately wants to do this, I might be persuaded to illustrate how I did this so you can replicate the effect.

All I know is, it's rather fun to go screaming off the runway and blast all the way up to 44 thousand feet to cruise at Mach .80! I suspect though that this plane doesn't normally fly quite that high, i'm thinking more like 35-41k feet depending on distance.
