You'd just love to know, wouldn't you? But, as were not quite at the 1st of April yet, you'll have to be a little more patient for the final list of what's in the new EXE. Note: 1st of April is deadline for completion of the EXE. Final testing will then start, before the new files are posted. One thing though, all the old setups should work with the new EXE, and it's support files.
Supports EAW 1.29.exe, Drop in and Play Technology. 1.29 download

I think there are things that EAW can do better than any other games, and one of this are the interceptions/escorts and the rodeo style operations, specially in Europe, hope we can get even better representation of this things on the new Exe.

I'm running Vista and it runs on my PC. I still have not found the garbled map screen fix as there does not yet appear to be the equivalent of the XP fix which will work in Vista. However, you can set up single missions OK with JIMMNNFL and load them in the parameters screen. BTW a brand new JIM (just for single missions) is almost ready- some "save" routines just need adding, and I am working on that. Jel

It will not be released tomorrow Stratos, but all work by the code group on it will be finished- nothing new will be added. It will be compiled, packaged, and then distributed to members of the code group for testing. Then any bugs which emerge will be corrected. and the final release package put together. Because of the new features we have done a lot of testing already with single missions and multiplayer, but very little in testing the career area. However, the new version of JIM (JIM2008) is ready to roll, and I am working on the installation instructions. Jel

I know it will not be released, I only want to know what stuff add or address We would have to open up a new SimHQ forum to list all the changes. Seriously though, there has been a staggering amount of changes done to almost every aspect of the game. Just the 3D engine remains largely untouched, this time around. The next exe will break new ground yet still further.

No- it is not an April Fool's joke and testing has started. Nobody said that April 1st was a release date. In this thread (and before April 1st) we stated clearly that this was the date at which all work would stop, and pre-release testing would start. (Col G) Note: 1st of April is deadline for completion of the EXE. Final testing will then start, before the new files are posted.
The fact is that so many members of the code group were coming up with new ideas and innovations that a deadline had to be set or we would have been adding more and more, and never reaching a release date. The committee set it at April 1st- an easy one to remember! Jel
