I fly F18 since years nox and i enjoy it a lot. But today i have a problem. I just bough a new rig with a Nvidia vcard ( asus 8800 GTX) and i experience now banding on the skiy and a lot of stutter when i enter in a2a mode.

I have done all what you can read in this topic ( above in post it)

Nothing change!! with or without AA or AF, any combination...)

I have absolutly no problems with Lomac/FC, Falcon OF and FB/PF, everything runs smooth...

Please Help because i love this sim and F18 is , for me, above all sims in a lot of compartment of simulation

I found that the 155.28 158.22 drivers did not show such a large AA Slowdown as the latest drivers. IT is still present as shown by FRAPS, but retains enough frames so it isn't so bad. Still some banding problem, though. With the 169.21 drivers, it was a slide show.

One thing to note:

The new drivers BROKE the ability to set profiles for different games! No matter what you set, it still used the GLOBAL setting. This may be another reason changing AA and AF did not appear to have an effect.

but I haven't tried them.

Also some odd graphics anomalies.. e.g. the Smoke from the factory in FIRST LOOK seems like cement balls drifting upwards!

I have not yet tried the DXTweaker.

the stick post DXTweaker is K,I got AA slow too by K.
maybe u should try J.(can be download on TSH),it work fine.

i try 163.75 ,AA SLOW remain.looking for 155.28

I still get the slowdown with 155.28,158.22 but it is nowhere near as bad as with 169.21. I now run 163.75, and it seems a bit worse that 155.28158.22 but not bad.

I did not try completely removing FSAA for F/A-18 in the Nvidia Control panel. Currently, I have set 2x AF, 8xQ AA and SUPERSAMPLING mode for AA Transparency.

EDIT: MY ERRORS ABOVE.. the driver set I used successfully was 158.22 not 155.28. Sorry for the confusion and my dyslexic faulty memory.

Where can i find DXT version J please? l've searched on TSH website and on Google but nothing...

but i can not try 158.22 ,it is just for GF8 not for GF7.
i am use 91.47 now,and the DTXtweaker J's A8R8G8B8 can be set to X8R8G8B8
the skidding seems lower than A8R8G8B8 .
