So if I capture a bunch of big BMP files with FRAPS, is there a good way to scale them down to an uploadable size without converting one by one?

thanks,

I purchased FRAPs so i'm able to save all my screens as .jpgs. Not sure if there is another method for doing all at once.

Photobucket is allowing you to upload videos now.
I've never used it but it is another option to think about.

Photobucket limits the video file upload size to 100MB; you get an error during upload if your video is larger. The play length of video files is limited to 5 minutes for Free accounts and 10 minutes for Pro accounts. Video clips that are longer are truncated to the maximum play length for your account type.

For image resizing and conversion, Mihov's Image Resizer is nice and quick.

Also for quick and easy screenshots in several formats, custom sizes or entire screen etc, I use Hoversnap. Keyboard shortcut, drag a box or snap the screen and saves/names how you set it up.

Both are freeware I've used for a good long time.

For video editing, I've had really good luck with the AVS Video Editor software package. I think it was around $60 when I bought it, but the quality of the results has been excellent for me. Tons of different formats to save in including 1080 HD and even Blueray disc. I definately recommend it for any who enjoys making videos.

Here's my youtube site where you can see the videos I've produced with it. There's tons of different wipes, fades, fonts, effects and transitions I haven't even used yet. Compatible with Windows 7 64 bit for those who might be concerned.

Also I agree with DaveSHQ. Purchase FRAPS for screensaving is an excellent choice. I believe they are up to version 3.2.6. I also use it for the video capturing that I then edit and convert to 1080HD format. Well worth the purchase price.

Hey folks. I recently found a new screen and video capture tool.

Wegame

I've been using it for a little while now and think I like it. Unlike the freeware fraps, this doesn't leave a watermark and video capture is continuous and not limited to 30 seconds at a time. As far as I can tell, it doesn't hinder fps too bad like fraps can do and the actual playback seems to be smooth, especially if you take the time to make a movie such as in windows movie maker and save it as a movie.

The only negative I've seen so far it that there does not appear to be an offline mode.

Thought I'd share.
