[quote=249th_Jeevz]If you think of kills as just being rendered "combat ineffective" then most games with 1 or 2 shot "kills" make sense. For a most games it doesn't make sense to have someone alive but unable to participate because of injury. If you just read every thing i wrote. i think what i said makes the games much more interesting, much beter.

I remember only one game that I've played that REALLY did that. Discounting games like SWAT 4, OFP/ArmA or R6 where I've had a leg hit slow me down/make me crawl or an arm hit screw up my aiming, and that was Heretic II. An old Quake 2-engined game that was fairly arcade in MP with one exception--when fighting with bladed staffs you could on occasion manage to sever another guy's arm. If it was his left, he could still attack you but with less strength (one-handed staff doesn't work well), while if it was his right you'd literally disarmed him. \:\) Either way, he'd start bleeding out and would die within about 20 seconds.

Compare that to say the Jedi Knight series where a Stormtrooper dies after you knock off his hand.

better then looking for health pack dont you agree?

i´ve seen people shot with 7.62 and the resulting injury is mean,as in most of them ended up dead with a huge hole....the few who survived were shot on limbs, only scratched...otherwise i can assure a 7.62 is one shot one kill whereever it hits, you will not die instantly in some cases but your demise is sure. i have a link for a aftermath of the rio de janeiro police against some drugdealers, and the result was gore.

If reality worked by the 1-shot, 1-kill method, the KIA counts for all past wars waged with firearms would be ten or more times higher than they actually were. True realism is a lot more complex than just turning up the damage dealt by weapons. I didn't honestly expect CoD4 to go that route, though, and I won't hold it against them - I do, however, find it amusing that they refer to what is effectively a quad-damage mod as "realism".

That's true. But it's better than what we have now. Even one shot, which for example in arma might not kill anyone will do NOTHING to the AI. They will return fire with pinpoint accuracy and don't even seem to be affected at all.

I'd rather have one shot kill than having to pump a mag into each guy while him being 100% combat effective until you deal > 100% damage.

Ridiculous.
