I would appreciate some advice from the more technologically able. My PC monitor is acting weirdly when I switch it on. It usually produces thin, moving vertical multi-coloured stripes against a white background and sometimes hisses for a while. After a time, it begins to roll and I can make out the desktop display emerging. It then clarifies and is okay - until I switch it on the next time! It takes about five minutes for the screen to settle down and give a static image of the desktop. I don't know if this means that my monitor is dying or my graphics card is going. I would be grateful for a steer from one of you PC gurus. Thanks.

No definite answer, but the rolling picture sounds kinda like problem with the monitor. I can't imagine a graphics card doing that... but I might be wrong.

either your vertical or horizontal holds is hosed. Time for a new one.

no, I've been hiding at walmart, making money and immediately spending it on getting my New PC together before 2008, lol, then I'll be back on SF Boards spamming my Hi Res Full Detail Screenshots of whatever :p
