Months of research, hard work and attention to detail, to bring you this new mod for GTR2. We have tried to do what all fans of historical racing wished GTLegends had been. We don't know if you'll like it, neither we think this is the best mod ever, but for sure we tried hard with passion and we had lot's of fun by doing so. We hope that with your constructive criticism, this mod will grow even more on future releases.
Have fun! The GTL Workshop mod team.

I had a quick blast this morning, so far I have tried the Abarths and the Alfas, and also the Etype and TR4. Man, the handling is fun!!!

I think the P&G should have a separate section, I want to keep up with developments, setups, new releases, tweaks and online play, and it would be so much easier to find the info quick if it had a separate area.

Hello everybody,
With the big help of various communities around the world that loved the mod and done such a fine and constructive criticism, we where able to replicate and fix all the major bugs of the first version.

Please also accept our little "gift" for your help and understanding. New elite car, improved sounds, custom championships, no speed limits on pits and new tyre management on the garage screen.
There are also some changes in the tyres and is VERY important to read again the manual (included in the patch) in the tyres section. A small description follows afterwards

TYRES
I have made a personal error in the interpretation of the historical data. Fortunately David Wright as always helped me understand and correct the errors. Changes are as follows:

- before and up to 1962 tyres R5
D9 compound, all around dry and wet. ok grip, excellent durability
D12 compound, softer, more grip on wet and dry, more overheat, less durability

- 1963 R6 L
D9 compound D9 compound, all around dry and wet. ok grip, excellent durability
D12 compound, softer, more grip on wet and dry, more overheat, less durability

- 1964 R6 M
D9 compound D9 compound, all around dry and wet. ok grip, excellent durability, acquaplanning danger
D12 compound GREEN SPOT, softer, more grip on wet and dry, more overheat, less durability. nervous under wet conditions

from 1965 and beyond tyres are as before.

IMPORTANT information for the garage screen
- On version 1.0 the D12, D12 Green spot and RED spot tyres where not visible and all simulated by the Intermediate, hard and soft wet tyres (identical)
- On Version 1.01 the D12, D12 Green spot and Red spot tyres are finally correctly shown. They still exist the 3 rain tyres (intermediate, soft, hard) but they are identical to the d12, d12green and red spot respectively and you can simply ignore them. (they are there for the AI hardcoded needs)

If you have doubts or questions, feel free to ask on the forums. we will be more than happy to explain.

IMPORTANT MINI CTD FIX
we're terribly sorry for the mini ctd bug. We have posted on other forums a fast fix for them. Unrar the file in your root GTR2 directory and overwrite files as needed.
Unfortunately we are unable to post files in this forum, so please seek the fix on the other two main simracing forums.

Thank you.

I have decided that if the NOPI tuner crowd wants to learn what the true meaning of the word "drift" is, they need to experience this mod. \:D

NOPI = Number One Parts, Incorporated. NOPI is the sponsor for the "NOPI motorsports" drifting competitions, where the goal is not to get your car around the track fast, it's to get your car around the track sideways (i.e. not the fastest way). If you're stereotyping, the NOPI crowd comprises young car owners who care about flashy cars and hot girls, not apex speeds and racing lines.

You're probably missing the track requested for the championship
check the list of the tracks from the championship information screen. (I think.)

The P&G mod is very very good. Awesome in fact.

It is best motor-sport sim I have ever driven, and I have driven most of'em.

My all-time faves are GPL and GTL - I like the seat-of-your-pants racing in old cars - with no
downforce/modern tyres gluing the car to the road.

Driving the Falcon around Goodwood is such a buzz, words don't to it justice. The feeling of road-contact, the body-roll & weight-shift, the beautiful controllable (and believable) power-on over-steer on corner exit. I can turn into a slide and ease on the revs, feeling the back-end fighting for traction, but not actually losing it. And this is an ISI-based sim!

I love the P&G mod. Well done guys! Can't wait for Pts 2 & 3, but I will be happily driving my Falcon for the mean-time. Cheers!

Me too, I am just finding it hard to meet anyone online, certainly at my usual time of 7 am GMT! I haven't seen you or Clevy or Forsey online for weeks now...

I also cannot stop the Falcon understeering to save my life! Got any setups?!

Is there a download anywhere for the necessary track required for this Mod?
I have been to the link above but I have no idea which tracks to grab.

If you guys are enjoying the Power & Glory mod, you'll definitely want to swing by the NoGrip site to download the new P&G menu add-on -- it gives the mod a look-and-feel that sets it apart completely from GTR2:

http://www.nogripracing.com/details.php?filenr=9192

If you're interested in the new menus, you will want to follow DucFreak's instructions for how to do a separate installation of GTR2 for the Power & Glory mod -- the new P&G menus disable the "24 Hour Race" option and the "Driving School" option, so if you install the P&G menu update to your default GTR2 installation, it will definitely muck up your GTR2 installation if/when you want to use the GTR2 cars/options:

http://www.nogripracing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=17566

Enjoy!

Daoh!. I see that now. Outstanding work jbodin.

I've been rebuilding my PC, and finally had the chance to do the double install, painstakingly following the DucFreak guide and using jbodin's menus. Well, the result is well worth the effort. I've been lapping Donington in the RSR, and my God this is wonderful. The sounds, the torque, the oversteer! Can't wait to sample the rest.

Question: will there be a Shelby Daytona coupe in the future?

Glad you like -- definitely worth the effort of doing a double installation, IMO -- makes it seem like a whole different game, and once you do a separate installation for P&G you don't have to "dig through" GTR2 to get to the P&G goodness within!

Can't say for sure, but there is a Daytona coupe in GTL, and I think the goal is to reproduce all of the GTL cars in their authentic "historical" trim (rather than in their modern FIA historics form).

For those of you who are historical purists (or just old guys like me), the following phrase might bring back some memories:

"The thrill of victory . . . and the agony of defeat!"

If you can remember the cars from the P&G era when they were originally raced, then you probably recall that phrase from ABC's Wide World Of Sports broadcasts.

Inspired by memories from my childhood I decided to put together a little TV logo add-on for the P&G mod that gives you the ABC Wide World Of Sports logo when viewing replays in full-screen (TV) mode. Here are a couple of screen shots:

No, this is NOT an April Fool's joke . . . and it does look kind of cool in-game. Not the kind of thing that constitutes a "serious" improvement to the game, but I it makes me grin.

File is available now in the P&G "Downloads" section on the NoGrip site:

http://www.nogripracing.com/details.php?filenr=9534

Enjoy!

I can hear Jim McKay now..."...thrill of victory, agony of defeat". For those of us who suffered through the sparse F1 coverage, well it wasn't good, but long before cable TV and ESPN, it was all that we had. Thanks for the memories.
