Is that F-16 pit made out of wood or metal?

It's wood. Just some strengtheners are metal.

Where did you get the switches at?

Most of them are standard switches you can get from your local electronics store. Special toggle switches have been aquired off ebay. The rotary-caps are from Biohazard, a guy from Belgium.

If you're interested in F-16 pitbuilding, http://www.viperpits.org is _THE_ source for you!

Great Pit! I like the utility of it. I'm starting to think that good cable routing is like keeping your sideburns well trimmed. \:\)

Heres a copy and paste of a previous pit whoring out LOL:

Alright not the best pics the decent camera is out at our boat but I got an old (ancient) floppy disk digi camera!

Here we go simpit in current config:

From the backside

Side View

Trackir Close up

Rudder Close up

Stick Mount Close up

Headset Track clip pro (only comms through headset, all other sound 5.1)

Close up with projector on

Back up of room size (8wx10L screen on shorter wall)

Projector on opposite mounted

I'd like to build a genric simpit enclosure in the future with buttons/trim wheels/possibly guages all built in! Hope this helps!

EDIT: New additions include a buttkicker gamer and a Z5500 logitech speaker set.

The throttle base rotates out of the way to the left. The Joystick shelf attached to the Keyboard shelf slides in and out to suit and all the way out for removal. The throttle and joystick are Velcro'd down. Its a work in progress.

The desk is just some cut out plywood covered in a cheap wood flooring with file cabinets used for legs.

Still need to get it enclosed, though. (This is all temporary wood framing and support, so I can finalize the wiring and then dimension the metal framing and hull sections.)

The first pic's just a lamp test, with it sitting on the bench. (So you can see it lit up. \:D )

I drool over the simple yet beautifull and realistic way you have buildt your pit GrizzlyT..! Almost to the point of dehydration to be honest..! c",)

For god's sake, someone get this man a drink!!!
And while you're at it, I'll take a triple tequila....neat. \:D

Seriously, thanks to all, for the kind words. Although, if this keeps up my head may get too big, to fit into my helmet.
(Like some huge "bobble-head" doll. )

As is typical of late, progress has been slow (This time, I'll use the holidays as an excuse.) but hopefully, I'll have some new pics to post soon!
Since the last set, I've elevated the platform, started on the electronics cabinet, made a fresnel housing, and (just recently) acquired some aluminum extrusion, to start on the frame.

.........never enough hours, in the day!
