Ade :

For sure!....The notes with the Alb DV (belonging to Lt. Fuchs..with Fox and Chicken on side) says that the fuselage was pale blue, the animals were red, and (get this..LOL ) the wing surfaces were checkered green & mauve!!......Nothing like blending into your surroundings huh!? \:\)

Yep, I think the Spad you liked was actually called 'The Flying Fish'. It's a Nieuport 24B....the pilot is U.S. called Capt. Harry S Gwinne. The U.S. seemed quite reliant on aircraft 'hand outs' from other countries.

Interesting that that SE5 there is actually american too, of the U.S. 94th Aero Sqdn.

G'day Folks,

Have broken through the colour barrier using Jel's
Minipic view2 and colour palette, for all the minipics
associated with the mission parameters screen. Well done
Jel, a refreshing enhancement for EAW.

Looks good in color, Ade.
Have you thought of using an old style pen script font for the mission screens in WWI? I believe these missions were written in by hand, not typed.

Nice work on the minipics. Something fresh.
Kinda the reverse for a change-- old planes in color while stock EAW is black&white. \:D

But....how come I can't fly with your family? Jel posted a good set of squadmates. ;\)

Woody,

Please clarify, 'How come I can't fly with your family?'

Looking excellent, Ade

there was enough colour photography in WW2 to be authentic...and I remember some awesome colour photographs of French airplanes, too. They have been discovered not long agao and a special technique was used afaik...

concerning WW1 - why not design this yellow-brownish sepia photographs? Would surely be worth a try ;\)

Thx

Woody

Family group certainly available for all missions, would even
consider travelling to Santa Cruz for a gig!! cheers m8.
Not sure how to apply a pen script font, any ideas?

Fran

Yep, like your idea re sepia pics, will try it out.

Al

Used Jel's second edition proggy called RAWviewV2, not
sure who else is working on WW1 themes, but here's my
progress so far.

WW1 Scenario to date:

Single Mission/ Quick Start Game

Terrain - SagginB's Summer with misty clouds, sparse roads
Ground objects - barrage balloons, single trenches, tree rows,
damaged buildings, ships, harbours, grass airfields/runways,
timber hangars, chateaux at airfields,

Mainscreens - various x 8 - done

Plane menu screens in colour x 3 - done

Hangar screens x 40 different - done

Configuration screens x 3 different - done

Map - inflight - Western front/Rhine/to Italy - done

Music - for Intro/Mainscreen/Config screens courtesy of Woody - done

Mission Parameters page - dates, colour plane pics and plane names - done

Needed:

Mission Parameters page altered for target names.

Targets/Bases on map.

Ade
