Oh... my... God... ! Awesome Arneh! I have to restrain myself not making these screens to be my desktop wallpaper! Your are truely a master arneh. Great work, even though this means I will have to take new screenshots of all the new maps for our Campaign list at EECH-Central Damn...

Arneh, I have to add my praise, these maps will be a fantastic improvment over the existing ones. EECH just gets better all the time. Thanks so much for all of your incredible work

But as a.forlorn wrote: Contour is crucial, keep it. (Please...) Not to worry, the contours will stay. But I'll experiment a little with their colours, maybe I can find something better.

Very interesting to look at old terrains with the new maps. I can really tell how the terrain is now So I'll share some of the other maps I didn't show you in my first post. Quite a lot of variety Red Sea: Thailand: Lybia: Alexander Archipelago: Skagway: Afognak:

Superb work Arneh....just superb!!!! (Nice to see you coding again, too. ) ...Admittedly the colours won't necessarily be the same for the same elevations as the campaign map, as the two use different elevations for contour lines. And shading will probably harder to add to the TSD map, at least without impacting frame rate. Not to drift too far off topic but... Is this the same reason we have never been able to overlay the map grid, onto the TSD? I always feel like I'm cheating, when I switch to the map in combat, because it shows enemy movement. However, it's currently the only way to figure out where to go, when someone calls for assistance. I'm guessing there's no easy way to use the map view instead, in the TSD? What about trying to (optionally) hide ememy movement on the map screen, when in flight? (I know you can toggle on/off what the map displays but I don't think you can do it just to the opposing side.) That way, you could look at the map (as you would any paper map, on your kneeboard), without knowing ahead of time about the enemy chopper group that's sneaking up on you.

You mean just the grid lines? Can't see why those should be so hard to add to the TSD map... I always feel like I'm cheating, when I switch to the map in combat, because it shows enemy movement. However, it's currently the only way to figure out where to go, when someone calls for assistance. Ah, nice you brought it up, as that's exactly what I was planning on doing something to next My basic plan is just to continue showing known enemy units, but only update it rarely. So you can see if there are any known enemy units in the area, but you won't know exactly where since they might have moved quite a bit since last update. And if no friendly units are in contact it will stop updating, but continue showing the last known position (for some time. But of course there is no use knowing where an aircraft was an hour ago as it almost certainly isn't anywhere close anymore). This will of course be optional, since it will affect gameplay quite a bit.

Arneh, will the red side also be affected of these changes?

Arneh, will the red side also be affected of these changes? Which changes? The infrequent updates thing? My plan was just for enemy units to get infrequent updates.

I prefer the colours of the new campaign map to those in the TSD. Me too! Something like this: Marvelous! Admittedly the colours won't necessarily be the same for the same elevations as the campaign map, as the two use different elevations for contour lines. Can you make them [use the same elevations contour lines]? Would be neat. Just neat, nothing more. You mean just the grid lines? Can't see why those should be so hard to add to the TSD map... Hopefully you will add this too. Looking forward not to press the enter key anymore. My basic plan is just to continue showing known enemy units, but only update it rarely. Wow, that will be great too!

Can you make them [use the same elevations contour lines]? Would be neat. Just neat, nothing more. I guess everything is possible, but this it not something I'll prioritize. The TSD can have closer contours since it shows a smaller area, while the campaign map which has to show the entire map with the entire range of altitudes has to be a little more conservative about how many contours it can show. Arneh, is there any way I can thank you for this, rather than using words? I'm aiming for a small donation. Let's say I like to give the money to you rather than to G2. No thanks, I'm not doing this for the money. Rather give the money to G2 on the condition that they let me have access to the source code
