Just installed from the DVD, ran it. All ok. Installed the 1.05 patch then the 1.08 patch
Now it won't start why am I not surprised.
Looked very good for a moment though, so working on it
Thanks tuna will have a look

Support is being good and asked for dxdiag and msinfo so something's happening
Quite a few people with this problem, crossing fingers
When I installed it first some months ago I needed to re-select my DVD drive in BIOS setup right away (help in here, support was non-existent that time) and it turned out that the mobo was going bad and it packed up eventually, coincidence probably and on another manufacturer's motherboard now. So I wasn't expecting to have a hassle this time I felt brave about re-installing ArmA from a now-USB external drive. Bit annoying but lots of people haven't got clean drinking water

Reinstalled ArmA
Now the original which did run before the patch won't run with the error message-
'The parameter is incorrect.'
Stroll on
I applied the International patch versions. Did I do a bad thing?

ArmA installs ok and runs under Vista. Crashes in a mission but there's patches to fix that
Which version of the patches for my purchased-in-UK DVD please?
The patches I ran last time were:
Arma_InternationalUpdate105.zip ArmA_InternationalUpdate105_108.zip
TIA

Ah sorted (hopefully cross everything) with a phonecall there were Czech and Russian versions around originally The version I bought originally needs this 'Euro' 1.05 patch from- http://www.armedassault.com/dwnl_update.html#euro105Look for- Boxed DVD ArmA: Armed Assault by 505 Games Version 1.04 Download and install Euro 1.05 update There were a few versions around early days and the UK-boxed version needs this smaller 226MB patch to make it 1.05, not the Arma_InternationalUpdate105.zip Now after installing this one it's International version 1.05 and then the International 1.08 patch. Theoretically Ming

Yes you did. My English is not the best and if that sounds like anything offensive well, it is not the case. Ming helped me solving my own issues with another piece of software, that's all.

These are called forums because they are like the Roman forums Tuna. They are not private messaging or email they are pubs <clink>. So any tips, hints, advice on problems goes a very long way. Sometimes around the world. Our machines are similiar, we run the same applications: so we build an online database for help and self-help in our forums. That's how I look at it anyway. And if some things remain forever a mystery that's ok too, puzzlement is good it keeps the brain ticking over Ming

I have issues getting it to start up at all.
I have the US downloaded version V1.07.
I can play this version with no problems.
I download the US download patch ver 1.08 and install it but the games does not start.
I am running:
Vista 32 2-320gig HD 4gig ram Intel Dual Core 1.8 8800GTS 620
I sent Atari a email about this. I also went to their website and there seems to be others having the exact same problem.

Was a solution ever found for this 1.08 problem? I have the atari version (1.06) running on XP and when I apply the 1.08 US patch, the game disc will spin up when I try to run ArmA, but then nothing happens at all. No check boxes or anything.
