1) I was playing the 'Stomper' mission the other day and in the heat of battle I was cycling through friendly targets... then for a split second, I locked onto a fired Hellfire. I was in TADS mode and it came up on the Upfront Display as 'AGM-114...' (couldn't catch the rest)!!! Has this sort of thing ever happened to any of you guys?

2) Is it just me, or do the rotors behave as they used to on the old systems (i.e. properly) with dgVoodoo 1.50 Beta, as opposed to v1.40+? Since I've used 1.50, I've got a lot more 'rotor RPM low' messages, and more bad things such as Vortex Ring! It has made it much better, as I say, like in the old days... how it SHOULD react. I think 1.40+ must have done something to speed or slow-down the game too much.

1 - Never happened to me before.

2 - I haven't got DGVoodoo 1.50, I'll have to try it and get back to you on that.

Well, the appearance of a lot of ROTOR RPM LOW and Vortex like states is NOT how the game was originally on the hardware of the day, so in this regard, I would say that the DGVoodoo 1.4 is behaving MORE correctly not less. When I ran this on a Pentium 166 with a Canopus Pure3d Voodoo 1 passthru card, I almost NEVER got into trouble with "Rotor RPM LOW". Switching to a P3-550 and V5 card, it started occurring more frequently but could be curbed with some Graphics settings which basically decreased the frame rate slightly. Now, on my current rig it is occurring more frequently again (DGVoodoo 1.50) but is somewhat manageable. Maybe I will try DGVoodoo 1.4 again!

Recluse, are you throttling your new rig back to lower frequencies on par with what the original was intended to run at?

Spectre,

I have done NO speed throttling other than using the DGVoodoo option to "synch to monitor frequency" and "wait for one vertical synch". With the exception of the increased prevalence of rotor RPM LOW and the usual inaccurate rockets, everything seems to run at an acceptable speed. I didn't even have to mess with the TURBULENCE option to overcome the annoying side to side rocking that I had on my P3-550!

Ive learned to move the throttle slowly up or down, and the low RPM speed stall goes away.
When I throw the throttle fast, its pretty easy to stall it out, especially when landing.
