Being a huge Jane's USAF fan I decided to make some videos using fraps and vegas.Now they are nothing fancy,since my maximum resolution is 1024x768 and my graphics card is not a very good one plus I am no expert when it comes to vegas or video editing/rendering,but here they are and you be the judge!

No Fear, I bet you'd run stock USAF just fine. My PC can't handle Slikk's SuperPro 9.2 add-on very well either.

WOW.......Those are great vids!!!!!These made me want to put the game back on my harddrive...I haven't played it in years!!!!I couldn't get it to run on xp.

Glad you liked the videos guys;I know they weren't what one may have got used to watching(Lock On)but USAF doesn't have the graphics nor the camera views of Lock On.And as I said I am no expert to make a 7+ year-old game(USAF)look any better.

I agree, of all the untold thousands of game videos on youtube a lot of older sims are not represented at all. I've searched for stuff and come with nothing or next to nothing although I found there are just a few other USAF videos up there. I'd add Janes on your tags if I were you it might help.

Well wolfbiscuits you are right but some of these videos were uploaded by a friend and he forgot to add the Jane's tag,but one or two were uploaded by me and have the tag:Jane's USAF Top Gun F-14...

Oh, sorry now I see, I never noticed you guys know each other. well, congratulations I reckon you are the only guy to have USAF videos on youtube apart from someone who posted the intro.

It is also inspired from Top Gun.It's about the first dogfight with Maverick and Cougar against the fictional MIG-28s!

The screen goes black for a few seconds somewhere in the middle of the clip but other than that it is OK.

what version of fraps and whats is your system?
i wanted to do the same with janes f-15 and i believe they use the same graphics....dfx or glide.but my turns into full motions half second with a slide show in between.

Well the FRAPS version is 2.7.4 and the vegas version 6.0d;as for my system specs,I have a P4 3.06 HT with 1024MB of RAM and a lousy nVidia FX 5500 with 256MB of RAM.

And yes the graphics of Jane's F-15 are almost the same with those of Jane's USAF but USAF's are a little better since it is a newer game than the F-15.

I wonder why your effort turned out to be a slideshow instead of a video clip.FRAPS is fairly easy to use and if you go to its site it has a step by step guide about everything;now vegas is another story though because it is not a very easy program to use in your first attempts.But when you learn it,it is really good!

Does anyone still play this game online? I just re-installed after a few year hiatus but nobody plays online anymore it seems.

there is a mod for this game and many people still play it online WITH the mod....go on the forum session for janes f-15 or janes f18 here and you will find sth.

Hi guys!

A few days ago three new add-ons were released for Jane's USAF by Slikk and COWAR.

Slikk released USAF [Pure] which is the original game with online flying and USAF Super Pro 9.4 (SP 9.4) which is like SP 9.2 but really improved and online flying.

COWAR released USAF MiniPro which is a really excellent add-on with online flying too.

I made a video with COWAR's MiniPro.
