Well I bought the Atari download because it doesn't have SecURom....

I just got a SecURom message and my game wouldn't start! I just know this DRM crap is gonna eventually force me to the dark side. Seems SecURom didn't like me running SysInternals Process Explorer for craps sake! Who the %$*& are they to spy on me??? What are they trying to hide????

Brilliant marketing there gents. Make it so hard for a legit user to use the software that they are forced to become a brigand.

I went thru this crap with IL246 and now ArmA.

I am not buying another piece of software with Crappy Protection! ever again.

Thank god. Copy protection does nothing but annoy the LEGITIMATE software purchasers.

To be honest I think it's only a minority who have problems with copy protection. I will work around it so I can keep the disk safely in a drawer and because juggling CDs is much more hassle than getting an appropriate Copy of a file from somewhere in the World of Games. And I'd never seek to install a game I haven't paid for! But I'm not so strongly against the likes of Securom or Starforce or Boonty that I'd boycott a good product which happens to use them - it's hard enough finding publishers who will make games I like in the first place!
