I have the version of this absolute classic that's supposed to run in "Windows98".
But when I run it I get a message that says > "UNABLE TO INTIALIZE SOUND/FX"

I did a little searching & I'm told the workaround is ....
1] Make ShortCut For > aodcd.exe.
2] RightClick > "Aces Of The Deep" ShortCut > Properties
3] In Target Field Add "-s" after "aodcd.exe"
4] This Will Disable Sound So You Won't Get That Error.

When I do that & I see this ....

"Aces Of The Deep" Problem

See the quotationmarks after the ".EXE" ?
I put the "-s" after 'em, click APPLY & I see this ....

"Aces Of The Deep" Problem 2

Thinking the quotationmarks might have somethin' ta do with it, I take 'em away like this ....

"Aces Of The Deep" Problem 3
... put the "-s" after ".EXE", click APPLY again & I see the same "PROBLEM WITH SHORTCUT" box! lol

HELP !!!

Thanks In Advance!

Hi CaryMG. Try going over to Subsim.com forums. They have lots of tips on how to run Aces.

You'll have to have quotation marks, then the -S outside them. Like this:

"C:\Whatever directory\AODCD.exe" -S

Try that \:\)
