On Monday 5th March 2007, I was outside my house and at around 11.40am I heard what I thought was the noise of a chopper. I
looked around, but couldn't see anything. The sound went. Next thing, I heard it again, looked around and realised it was
coming from the North so I looked a bit, and there it was... the unmistakable shape of a Longbow Apache! Only what appeared
to be a few hundred feet off the ground and about a half-mile away. It seemed relatively quiet, but the wind was blowing in a
direction where it would have masked the sound somewhat. It was only in view for a couple of seconds, before it flew out of
sight behind some trees and houses. I waited a while for it to come back, but it didn't, and the sound faded away.
It must have been a WAH-64D training I guess. There are quite a few British Army/RAF/USAF aircraft that fly near my house. A
few years back, there was a Lynx that seemed to be training over a woodland not 100m from my house! If I'm lucky, in the
Summer, from my bedroom window I can see F-15s from either Mildenhall or Lakenheath doing aerobatics and stuff... no, I'm not making this up!
