Hi folks,

Just got a laptop capable of handling SH3, so I'm finally planning to get into this sim. I've installed SH3 with the GWX mod and the no-cd thingamabob. Everything runs great.

Here's the deal: my laptop is widescreen (1280x768) and I'm dying to get the 3D world to render un-stretched. I've seen conflicting reports (mostly at Subsim) as to whether this will work - some say it's impossible, others swear only the 2D overlays remain stretched. I've installed the d3d9.dll mod from the Community Manuals wiki, and confirmed that the config file d3d9.cfg is in fact used, since I could change the Gamma in that file and see the affects in the game. I just can't seem to get the 3D world to display unstretched.

Am I just out of luck?
Thanks,
Lev.

did you follow all the steps in the wiki? Make sure you do. Also, no-cd cracks are a no no when it comes to forcing SH3 on higher resolutions

Yep, definitely followed all the steps properly from the wiki, though that's the first mention I've heard about the res mod not working with the no-cd exe.

If that's the case, I'll just have to settle for a stretched 3D world, since my laptop (an ultraportable LG) only has a removable drive which I prefer not to keep connected. Plus I'm afraid of S-force.

Thanks for the insight, JAS39!
Lev.
