I've never seen an unditching beam secured to a Tiger before. Since it doesn't look like it's attached with rails, I'm having a difficult time conceptualizing how they could wrap chains at that location.

There is, as far as I know, only ONE Tiger seen from s.Pz.Abtl. 505 during that time that had it. Those reference images can be found on the Web. But why G5 Software decided to put it on ALL the Tigers is beyond me...

Are you reffering to this photo? http://www.alanhamby.com/late.html I hope they will remove that log from the Tiger, as having all of them with it is a bit ridiculous. Thanks for posting new images now daily, Rainer. These with the Tiger look especially great.

The reference photo looks like a jenky attachment some crew modded to their kit- it may after all be unique, not a 'standard' option like many post war Soviet tanks. I'm still puzzled though- I can't discern the attachment points. It almost looks like there is a latch bored into the log and secured to a common point with the cable.

The log might share the same hooks that hold the fenders or the same hooks that hold the towing cable on that side of the hull...

Hi, there is at least one more photo with "logged" Tigers (bottom http://www.alanhamby.com/gallery6.html ). albeit not too common, a log could be a nice touch. cheers Sinzov

Interesting. But still - for me personally to rare of an occurrence to have all Tigers in the game have one!

How fast is the turret in the Tiger as compared to the Tiger in RO? Besides the 2 tanks so far for the Germans, what others are available?

Short-Fuse, The better question is, what other vehicles do you want developed? The interview indicates that the game is still in Alpha development so now is the time to voice your wishes. In any case we're only talking about AI vehicles as their approach is to provide only two highly detailed, playable vehicles. The T34/85, and the Tiger. From my perspective they can't release this without at least adding Panthers to the AI list.

For what is the log good? And will G5 model the feature of faster turret moving if the driver gives full throttle? When the engine RPM is higher, the turret is moving faster then normal...

Then the question is, cna you put the tank in neutral so he can rev the engine to do so?

Features like that will be tackled during beta phase!
Putting tanks in neutral is already in..
The T-34 had two turret speeds by default, one for fast turning, the other for more precise turning. That's modeled.

Good to hear about that. In other sims, this feature is missing. How about the ammo in this sim? I know that you mentioned about doing the research on this but could you enlighten us with what you have found? There are sims out right now that if there was a human in a tank, it would take about 2 to 3 shots to knock it out. Whereas if a bot was in it, 1 shot 1 kill. What kind of demolition will we see when a tank gets hit? Any "tipping the hat" going to be modeled? (where a turret is blown completely off) How about a dammage model if you shoot at the base of the turret, it gets jammed? Are ricochets factored into the dammage model or just solid hits? I know, Mr. 20 questions but I am just asking.

Dan Well, the AI needs some tweaking. Remember, it's alpha. But the AI is not perfect in hitting and doesn't kill with one shot either, it's just a tad to fast right now. But this will be adjusted. About the damage model.. still work-in-progress, but already pretty good. Turret jamming? Hmm. Not in yet. I might add that to the "wishlist"! Turrets blown off is already in. If you look around, you'll find some images here somewhere... Not sure about the ricochets, but I will make a note!
