This may be a bit off topic, but are there plans to make the Bf 108 Taifun flyable? I could provide enough references for the cabine, cockpit etc, so that should be no problem.

I mean, if we get the Su for simple flying, why not make the 108 available for recon missions and such. Would be a great adition, IMO.

Just like the Ju52. Why not allow people to fly them aswell. A whole new world of missions would arise out of this.

Here's a good source of SoW:BoB pics, including a better shot of the scramble above.

Oleg has been looking into possibilities for allowing more work to be done by the 3rd party.

A Ju-52 cockpit was partially finished for FB before it was abandoned.

With the good FM, terrain, weather and the lack of competition, it might be possible for there to be a 1930s flying club and transport aircraft civil aviation sim. What do you think?

Oleg is avoiding modeling civil aircraft because of the avionics. But civil aircraft didnèt always have avionics...

I just checked the manual. There are no avionics in the Bf 108. It is all manual. So I really don't see where the difference is between a Bf 109 and a Bf 108.

Uhhhh... the 108 was a two or four seat training aircraft, smaller than the 109, and unarmed. Here is a link to a little info on the Bf-108.

I refered to the absence of eletronic diveces(avionics). I have the manual of a Bf 108 here, so I know quite a bit about the plane. Maybe read the posts more thoroughly next time ;\)

I can't imagine why anyone would want to fly an ME-108 in a sky full of trigger happy Spitfire and Hurricane pilots!

You should view this sim beyond the online play. It will be, a I said already, a great addition for the campaigns. Flying recon missions, personal transports, delivery of pressing information in a limited time frame etc.

And maybe you should ask that questions the pilots who flew slower and unarmed pilots. Remeber to report, I'm really curious what they would ahve to say to you.

Well, first of all, we are talking about a sim here, not real life. As far as those men who flew unarmed recon missions, I happen to have a great fascination for that aspect of military aviation.
I have, in my library, books dealing with both the strategic recon groups and the tactical recon groups.
I'll bet it was exciting (and scary as Hell) to have flown an unarmed Spitfire MK XI with the 7TH Photo Recon Group on long, one plane missions to Berlin. (Yes, before someone says I'm crazy, recon Spits could go all the way to Berlin and back.)
In a sim, not so much. Remember, what made it so exciting, was the nearness of Death. There's no such fear, here, so the excitement comes from the air battles. I can't imagine that sitting in front of a computer screen, and staring at the monitor for hours with nothing happening would be a whole lot of fun. And I don't know about you, but that's what I'm doing this for.

Well If weather and FM is as grate as we expect, the "nothing happening" is quite a simplification of the "flying the aircraft" part of the sim.

Besides the best selling sim to date is a civiliam flight simulator... Just flying is hardlly "nothing happening" for lots of people ;\)

Of course Olegs Sims have better FM \:\)

An don't get me wrong I need to shoot stuff allright. But sometimes I love a transport mission. I belive that flyable JU 52 and C-47s are big omissions in the Il-2 series universe. But hey we can't have everything right?

ahh Baco the joy of flying eh, yep thats whats got me flying fs2004 and never looked back, still good to shoot stuff but in combat sims alot of the flying esp in this era seems lost, after all flying was dangerous stuff without anyone shooting at you.

\:D

I want a 1938 Rolls Royce or I'm not buying this. I want to be able to ride around the countryside when I'm not flying.

I wanna be able to be a firefighter in the blitz, too. Oh, and a Beefeater at the Tower also, role playing don't ya know. Oh, and one of those succesful Abwehr spies!

"Dear Canaris,

The bombing's not going so good. Leave those stupid airfields alone and start hitting the Cities!

PS Send me the latest Enigma machine too. Wouldn't want Tommy to decipher any of my important messages, would we?

Schultz"

You getting all this Oleg?
