After hesitating I nevertheless got a smile price-copy of LOMAC some days ago (I saw no need to try to import the Gold version, when Flaming cliffs probably will be included in Black shark in three months or so). Surely looks nice, and it was fun to have some quick rounds of flying, but the interface is still as inferior and nonergonomic as with Flanker 2/2.5. Anyway, I feel this sim holds not enough for me to dive deeper into it, and even worse: my CH HOTAS combo causes problems whenever I have switched the command profile level - the stick movements, from that moment on, will remain oversensitive and beyond a level of reasonably controlling the plane, no matter what axis settings I choose in the sim or in the control manager software by CH (both do not seem to like each other). So I think I stay with Falcon SP 4.2

However, I understand that Black Shark will be about a russian chopper, and it appears to me: exclusively so. Is there any knowledge if it only is a gimmick addon, or is is a full-scale helicopter sim beyond the arcade level of Gunship! or EECH, and comparable to Longbow2 ? This could make me keep interested, maybe.

Oh LB2! That brings back great memories and chunky spiral bound manuals. Will Black Shark be akin to a LB3 style game in terms of detail and technical specs. I'm not sure? I am hoping that it is close to this Helo Sim utopia. Check it out here:

Anticipated release date is in March 2006 apparently. I'm sure there will be a previer of it on SimHQ early next year. At least I hope so.

On your stick problems I can't help you there. Don't have a CH setup myself. Thrusty Cougar for me. Perhaps take a look at these forums also for a hardware/game problem:

I would'nt call it a LB3. There's no Apache in it, just a Hokum. And if they have'nt done any significant work on the terrain, flying a helo in LOMAC will be pretty boring IMO. Too much flat terrain with triangle-shaped mountains.
But I'll wait with judging the game untill I've tried it or seen it in action.
Get your butt over to the LB2-forum and join us in some online games. Its far from dead, we fly regularly.
