Because we do want to read those posts, but don't want to have to browse all the forums or (dear God) register to post there?

Uh no. The op only linked it because he wants his voice to be heard.

Look at the amount of posts by him in that thread.

Well, as someone whose hosted and run a web forum/BBS since the early 90s, such posts are generally frowned upon.

A forum/BBS is a central place. Posting links to another forum is just a lame plug for the linked system.

But again, Im not a mod here, just saying how an old time system operator views it \:\)

first i'm not an f16 pilot and only have access to public documents:

@anakin:

1. i've calculated the takeoff rolls of AF using the stats for the real a/c IAW T.O. 1F-16C-1... they were dead on +-200ft ( acceptable allowance due to the lack of exact distance measurements from within AF )... i've also completed a clean a/c runup and TO ( wheels off of the tarmac ) [IOW zero to flying] in under 9.5 seconds

2. i once found an insane F16 video ( all HUD ) of a pilot doing manuevers directly over a runway and copied his speeds and manuevers as close as i could to see if the AF F16 could handle as well as the real deal... it bled speed and accelerated, cornered nearly identical to the 1.09 flight model... i also emulated realife takeoffs and recover procedures IAW airforce TOs and FMs with AF 1.09 with no problems...

3. i've calculated landing speeds and perfectly matched the same stats as listed in TOs... i have and consistantly land a clean jet around 137-145 ( depending on wind )

I'm not doubting your experience and knowledge... the only thing i press is this is the most advanced "civilian" simulator known to me... all stats are IAW public domain information... we all know the real deal can perform on a slightly different level and your expert knowledge/experience of this is not allowed... there are a few things i know that can't/won't be published or ever seen in a civilian flight simulator ( i'll give you one for example: spiders don't do well on acid )

lastly: the only two things i have found to be not IAW published stats: 1) the braking power of the real a/c is significantly greater, although in real life you have a serious threat of overheating the brakes on faster/heavier landings that is not accounted for in AF and thus perserving a fun/fair balance that doensn't impede a/c performance, and 2) the real a/c can turn ( on the ground ) within a slightly smaller radius than i can produce in AF

Thank you for the above post.
I apologize for cross posting.
The reason I did, is because I know that here post some very knowledgable people that stopped posting at Frugal's...
I hope it did't cause a great deal of trouble.

Anikin, Block 50/52 final approach speed is computed thus:
136 knots + 4 knots per 1000lbs of externals/fuel. This is for a standard 13 degree approach (FPM middle of bracket).
Add 8 knots for an 11 degree approach (top of the bracket) as favored by many F4 simulation flyers.

You will find that AF is virtually right on with RL published numbers.
