This is fact, you just need to know where to look.

RTFM, the RP5 manual, in this case.
Spoken like a true gentleman, as usual

I'll explain it as if to a 4 year old...

Everybody's claiming "official" and "fact", and some, including myself, although we are aware of the real life importance, would like to believe, and do treat it as such in the game i.e. making sure altitudes (contrails) and lights are probably seen and best avoided, are asking - is there any proof that these are in fact modelled into the sim? LP has not commented, nor has anyone with any evidence.

The RP5 patch you refer to was considered illegal; so has LP used the code from it to incorporate this? There are many amazing realisms added post 1.08 - SP, BMS etc, but what has been included and what has not?

Don't even matter that much, but what does seem to grow to matter is the 'fact' that many are ademently screaming "FACT", without thinking and without 'fact' to back it up.

And LP, although invited, has not commented to confirm.

Not so sure about the RP5 comment since it was data edits, but you could be right.

Cheers

If you had come and asked the question oh, 3 or 4 years ago I am sure it would be fresh enough in our minds for something to be found.

I remember reading a document on the Falcon4 AI quite a while back, it could have been from the F4UT site, or elsewhere. You could probably go to frugals and search the falcon archives there for the info.

There's lots of us who have been around falcon for long enough to remember distinctly the whole 'AI perception and player detection' discussion and how it works. Lights matter, contrails matter, the type of equipment in the aircraft matter as does the skill level of the pilot.

Perhaps you can find one of those sites that archive webpages and look up f4ut.frugalsworld.com - might have been there somewhere.

What WW2 Fighter pilots say about Angels and Airspeed:

"Nice job of getting down to the basics - love your choice of a cover!" Col. Clarence 'Bud' Anderson

"I have enjoyed reading angels and airspeed, it should prove good reading for all interested in combat tactics and their application related to the fluid air environment and state of technology in WWII years. All the best as you make it available." - Col. Charles McGee - Tuskegee Airman

NEVER ENGAGE STUPID.

Nothing offical here but it seems to me, and it could just be me, that I get my a$$ shot off alot more when I leave the lights on.
