Pitcure this:

It's 1989, I'm stationed in Fulda, Germany, also known as the Fulda Gap, with the 11th ACR. I'm off duty at home playing a sim on my Amiga 500 called "Their Finest Hour". Man! That game was a blast. For the benefit of those that don't know, "Their Finest Hour" was a sim about the Battle Of Britain and was well ahead of it's time imo. I mean, you could even fly and man any position on all 3 of the Luftwaffe's medium bombers. The He111, Do17, and the Ju88. As well as the Ju87. And of course you could fly all of the fighters for both sides. Man, I used to love flying the bombers. I especially had a thang for the He111. A love affair of sorts, if you will.

Well, to me, BoB2 takes me back to that place, in a way. Just can't fly my beloved He111. Well, I have rambled on enuf. Later all.

Vince H,

Yes, times have changed. The Fulda Gap was a guaranteed death zone if the Soviets were to assault.
You cavalrymen were to be the first ones to sacrifice yourselves blunting the assault.
Luck is with you, and may you have more of it!
Happy New Year!

Germany, near Freiburg
1989, I lived in Bad Kissingen about 50km south of Fulda. In Bad Kissingen, there were parts of the 11th ACR too. I was a BGS man (Federal Border Police) and we were often on patrol with the 11th ACR on the East German border. They had a camp in Wollbach, were we met them, before we went to the border.
In the 1970´s, I knew a lot of soldiers from the H- company in Bad Kissingen. We had a lot of fun with them. Disco, parties etc.
In 1989 I played Their finest hour on an ATARI ST. A year later, I bought my first PC, a 386 SX.
