Folks, SNAFU: We will patiently drum our nobby fingers on our computer desks until the dear lads inevitably manage to scrape up the energy to reply..... The World Series. Florida? I'm a staunch (southern) Yankee fan myself (yes incredible isn't it?). I am also a long time fan of the late Ted Williams (a former fighter pilot with an amazing ability to swat the horsehide right off baseballs) and his team the Red Socks. I am also a frequent visitor to Chicago with many friends there so I quite naturally feel deeply for all those die-hard Cubs fans. If the Yankees could not be in the series I somewhat desperately hoped for the perennially un-lucky and apparently nanny goat hexed Cubs and William's team the good old Red Socks....... Check yer rusti mailbox dear boy. You'll find what I hope is a suitable salutation waiting there for you and that poor unfortunate woman who somehow managed to find the grace to live there with you another year in spite of your painfully obvious shortcomings (I'm often told by dubious sources that I have many myself). The wonderful lady must in addition to being the mother of your beautiful children be a saint. Happy 11th. Anniversary on Friday the 24th to you both!

Folks, An almost total hush has fallen upon the completely empty halls of HWH. Even the crickets seem to be resting their weary legs. All that one can hear is the sound of pins dropping and little mice snoring behind the richly veined, walnut woodwork. A light zephyr meanders through an open window and softly ruffles a curtain in passing. The big grandfather clock at the bottom of the deeply carpeted stairs can be heard ticking off the solitary minutes... tick...tock...tick...tock...tick

Nah.. the mice are just resting They're having a party tomorrow. SNAFU is only 11 years old? Good Lord. What can I say. You seem mightily...ah...mature young man. It's always nice to drop in here every few days. I must confess that it takes a certain frame of mind, however, and right now my generous Scotch has me there. (no, that's not and oxymoron.)

Folks, Bader: You are a charter member of HWH and as such you sir are always, always welcome. Scotch? Don't mind if I do. Thank you very kindly. Now that your true face can be easily called to mind, thanks to Birmingham, it is even more pleasant to have you drop by. The local mice are planning to party hearty on the morrow you say? Hmmmmmm. I told SNAFU that if he didn't feed the cat he'd surely have to feed the mice. Oh well, perhaps they'll bring some good cheese this time and a oaken keg of best bitter? Last time those pesky rodents held a shindig all they had was a gallon of over-ripe grape juice and a quarter round of moldy Cheddar. Still, I must admit that it will be nice to hear drunken laughter ringing through the halls once more. Sigh! SNAFU 11 years of age? Oh yes dear boy, indeed he is that.... and then some. Actually it is SNAFU's 11th wedding anniversary we at HWH are cheerfully celebrating. Salute SNAFUs.

did somebody say Scotch? make mine Irish please and i will join you. Nice to catch up with the HWH news and nice little surprises like Bader joining the party.
i've been out of it, but one hard drive later i'm back in the game. Fortunately i found my son's life savings and decided the P.C. was far more important than his university education. i'm sure he will agree - when he finds out where the money went. i did remember to put an iou in the jar - with his mother's name on it. Ah yes, let this be a life lesson to him: be careful who you trust!
SNAFU, i will be uttering congratulations closer to the day, if my new hard drive is up to the test by then.

Folks, C51: LOL! Dare I mention this? Yes I dare, and considering your close, long standing (standing?) and intimate relationship with dear Sharon I'm surprised your er...hard drive hasn't gone out a long time ago. Sorry about the crash. I hope all was backed up. We missed you of coarse. We've in fact missed just about everybody. Welcome back. How do you feel about SNAFU's proposition? No, not the one involving your girlfriend and a can of whipping cream; I mean his suggestion regarding us each taking several pages of HWH cont. and copying all the stories according to author in MS Word format to a zip file? Then we'd combine them somehow and put them on a CD or on the BDG site. Whatcha think? SNAFU says he'll help. If you and Dux participate that would be 13 pages each and I've already started on pages 1-13 myself. LMK

Folks: C51: Okey Dokey with me if you take those and Dux and SNAFU can choose the rest....provided we can raise Dux on the wireless in time. Earth to Dux! Earth calling Dux! Over!
