Folks,

Dux is conspicuous by his absence. Perhaps he is mending his aircraft after her maiden voyage through the lofty hills and hungry trees of Derbyshire?

Or he may be licking the stamp before putting it on that envelope with the tenner enclosed and my mailing address scrawled across the front? Which is it Dux? ;\)

Happy New Year yawl. \:\)

Greetings Chaps,

SNAFU's return is noted and received with relief. It was his round.

No flight yet JRT...awaiting a decent airbrush for the paint job but I may be able to codge up a suitable 'flying' shot through the magic of my roving digital camera!

Discovered a jolly good wheeze today...how to rack up a few easy victories in BoB2.
Just loiter about over the channel and follow the bombers back to base. As they queue up to land, follow on and bag a few of the blighters.
Keep a lookout for 109s though. I think the ones you prang on the ground come up as aerial victories though. Don't expect any help from your Squadron mates if any have tagged along.
They just follow you about intent on keeping formation.
This unsporting behaviour wasn't possible in BoB1 because the flak was so damned accurate.

I trust everyone had a thoroughly enjoyable Christmas. Maybe I can get my gut lining back in order ready for New Years Eve.

Folks,

Dux: \:\)

We eagerly await those photos. I have a little "Badger" airbrush that has always been satisfactory however to really do the best work one needs a better air source than I have. I only have a very small compressor. One needs a compressor with a pressure gage and automatic operation.

That sounds like a happy pastime you have discovered. The term 'sitting ducks' comes to mind. Worry not about it being unsportsmanlike. None other than the great ace Chuck Yeager sent many a Me 262 to Valhalla by using those same tactics. He stated that "....it was war, so what the hell." ;\)

All,

JR2, thanks for your concern and support. It is quite amazing to me that freindships can be built online. I thank everyone of HWH for their concern. Most of us get to a time when we become the parents of our parent and while that time, with respect to my mom came several years ago for us, the issues now have grown more difficult to manage. I most certainly hope you and the family had a Merry Christmas and will prosper in the new year. I saw T had some bad luck regards to employment before Christmas. Have to love the timing. You Southern boys are quite good at pulling something good from bad situations (ask Lincoln) so T will be fine.

Duxie, sounds like that air machine of your build may be ready for flight. Cant wait to see finished (preflight ;\) ) photos. After so much care and time it would be hard for me to every put her in the air for fear she may come tumbling down in small increments. But flight takes brave men like yourself. Best of luck!

The thought of Olga being concerned about me OR even that she is aware of my existence is depressing to say the least. In someways floating alone in the channel now seems preferable.

Folks,

SNAFU:

How good it is to have you back. Your friendly banter and good humor was missed.

You and your sister are good children. I commend you for it. In the years that we cared for my mom and grand mom there were good days and there were better days. I suppose it was the same for them when they were rearing me. It was a labor of love both ways and I would give anything to be able to have a moment with either of them again right now.

Dux has posted several snaps of the kit in progress and more recently one of it nearly finished. Soon we should be seeing photos of either the maiden flight or the maiden crash. ;\)

I feel confident that the year 2006 will be the best year ever for HWH and every one of us. Happy New Year folks.

Folks,

I have not spoken to him directly however I have it on very good authority that our missing pal C51 has received a copy of BoB2 for Christmas. Although things are far from ideal for him right now I hope that he will get the opportunity to experience the simm and post his opinion of the new version plus a pro and con comparison with the older version. \:\)
