Folks,

Dux:

If I didn't know before I know now that I'm in for big trouble soon. In the favorite resolution poll on page one my current res 1024 x 768 is no longer even listed. This ancient, pedal driven computer is well and truly past its trash by date....

A panoramic view can be accomplished with multiple monitors. That isn't perfect for the sky outside appears to me to be seen through multiple windows rather than a single canopy.

As for your silk scarf, blue is an excellent choice. I'd opt for red, white and blue or maybe just red I think. Then should I managed to rub my neck raw anyway the blood won't show.

JRT,

Do not despair. Mine is also a 1024X768 but a new one due (1920X1080) when I've stopped buying stamps - and more fitting for the new rig of last year. The prices are now at an all time low with a 21" at around £90 with guarantee.

Jimmy,

Nah...but thanks. She's still like a brick and the Dr.1 with a very good climb rate won't oblige me with that one. I can leave everything behind though as she dives like hell.

Folks,

Dux:

At the current rate of exchange that's only about $135. I have an IBM 6547 17" monitor which is capable of 1280 X 1024 max. Fact is I don't like the desktop at higher than 1024 x 768 res. Maybe I could get used to it. The fall semester is about to begin so my son's new laptop should be arriving soon. I may be able to load the free down loadable version of ROF on that. The screen will be as big as this one. We'll need a compatible joystick though. I ain't Pluto so I ain't flyin' with a mouse. I doubt my current USB Saitek would work with a laptop. Anyone know if ROF has a console version for the XBox 360? I understand IL2 has one.

Beastly hot here again Dux. We do not have drought conditions here so the crops look good. The corn is burning up in the Midwest due to drought conditions there and triple digit heat. Expect to pay more for your corn flakes eventually.

JRT,

Lucky you. Should be high summer here and approaching 80f but now only 64f.

I've scanned around a bit but can't find any site info that catagorically states 'Rof For XBox console.'

Folks,

Dux:

I'm not a console fan you see so I don't know what is available. I've not touched the Xbox since we got it for the kids. I must admit that stuff looks pretty good on the HD wide screen though.

No clouds this morning and already the patio is beginning to bake. We'll see 91 F. for two days before a slight cooling. The farmers here are in great shape unlike those in the Midwest. The corn is tall and green. Tobacco looks good and soybeans too. If there is no hurricane before harvest this will be a huge improvement over last year. We have a friend who inherited a multi-million dollar farming operation last year. Farming is always a gamble and he has a lot to lose in a bad year. Right now he and his new wife are smiling. Most folks lawns are lush and green and the sound of lawn mowers rather than roosters greet the rising sun.

A large gaggle of Huns dropped in unannounced so I took a flight of Spits up to play right over Manston The unfriendly chap I got behind knew his stuff and it took a while to get the first successful squirt in. A couple of "Flying Pencils" zipped in and dropped some eggs while we were distracted. We saw to it they would not come home. My sparring partner finally zigged when he should have zagged and I caught him across the wing root and canopy. There was no chute. I looked around but the black cross crowd had had enough. I called for a vector and we joined up and winged our weary but happy way home. As I dropped in and touched down I noticed a biplane waiting there for us. I taxied over, cut the throttle and put on the brakes. Here is what was waiting.

JRT,

Good stuff from WoV! Is that a Do17 going in over there? Too low for 'chutes. I reckon there will be a few extra servings of Wiener schnitzel available for 'seconds' tonight.

The good old 'Tiggy' standing by to whisk you off for a spectacular arrival at The Mall and the Buckingham Palace Investiture ceremony, eh?

Just make sure you don't wear the Iron Cross that Goering sent you after clobbering those three Blenheims over Dunkirk in June...

Folks,

Dux:

No, I believe that is PV1 just setting down in the distance. I see smoke trailing behind him. He is either testing a prototype jet engine or his tail is on fire.

Unfortunately the Tiger Moth is not yet flyable in my version. I will be taking the train instead. HM the King knows me by name now you know. Of course the particular name he knows me by is somewhat derogatory thanks to you and MG. As I recall it was at the DFC award ceremony that MG made a very rude noise in the presence of the Monarch at which time you both turned on cue and frowned at me. scuseme

Mercifully I am going to London alone this time. I say mercifully because you two bounders have so many gongs now that adding even one more ribbon to an already crowded tunic would probably break your backs. Too bad C51 has now gone missing. He'd figure a way to get the Moth into the air. Of course that might involve the use of a catapult or trebochet....

JRT,

Splendid! Get back in time for the usual celebration. Something extra special will be laid on in the shape of Olga and Ilsa doing the dance of the seven parachute panels. The only veils we could find were far too immodest, even for that pair. We found them in the chaplain's vestry. God knows what they were for but I was informed that they only came out on choir practice night.

Leroy will be performing his acclaimed dance from Act 1 of the Nutcracker Ballet when he will appear as the Sugar Plum Fairy or Mayor Stahlbaum the Town Mayor - not been decided just yet because he his busy, even as I type, with the final fitting of his gold lame jockstrap with delicate, multicoloured organdy streamers and finest peacock feathers in the rear. It will be a lucky fellow who takes him home tonight...

I'll save you a front row ticket.
