Wondering if anyone is flying Fighters Anthology these days ? I loved that sim because it had so many different aircraft, both land and naval based. If you guys here can get other aircraft in USAF I will put it back on my hard drive again , although I didn't try it with the 8.25 patch that is available, what is it like ?

Admin 8.25 is bloody brilliant, and wipes the floor with FA. In most regards - Graphics, FPS, flight models... The big and remaining weakness USAF has vs FA is the lack of capabilities in the mission editor. The maps aren't big enough and runways are not placeable.

I have yet to dl Admin 8.25, but from what I've heard it is outstanding. I, myself, applaud those that have worked on it giving up their free time to help make something that was already great even better

Yes I have also been modding it:
I have napalm that spreads out as hundreds of yellow streaks (bullet.sh) and a hind that drops off a small running man who leaps from the plane (at a 45' angle) and the runs one foot off the ground to the targeted buildng finnally I was working on a Uav that relleases invisible low velocity rounds in such a way that it looks like you are calling in arty (complete with time delays, fire support sound? and spread out explosions)

I've always felt that the biggest weakness with USAF is that it has no Airbase Assault mode... there's no way to simulate the same thing.

Also, people tend to prefer to play with the stock version of the game in multiplay. Part of it is logistical (it's hard to get a lot of people to get all the right mods and files all the right time), and part of it is some people don't trust free third-party stuff... doh!

Oh well... both games are fun IMO.

Beautiful Vancouver Island, BC
6x10^6 x 10,

Could you post some sceenshots from FA? I can buy it for real cheap, just wondering if it is worth it.

I still fly FA from time to time one of the things I like about FA that is missing from USAF is the flak explosions.

Gavin Bennett runways are placeable, but to make them landable you have to do something to make them landable.
Is FA worth it? I know it has lots of planes, but when I saw it in a store the package looked like the game had terrible graphics. \:o The thing I liked about it is that there are lots of planes like USAF now. Is it better in graphics, game play, and is it worth to buy?

Another good thing from FA is it does have a movie video section on alot of the planes in the game which would have been cool if usaf would have had something like that in it.

I still fly FA, have it in another machine that I've sorta dedicated to JF-15, the best thing I find about FA is the mission designer. And actually it is possible to land on new runways but that's if you cheat!! \:D !! Y'know the invunerable thingy. You never know guys,,,,,,,this sim has countless possibilities. USAF has come a long way without the help of the damn source code. \:\)
Cheers
