Yup, that's what it looks like now. smile

There are still a lot of areas with bare terrain, but not like it used to be. Oh, and all those "hard forests" that used to be in the game are all enterable forests now. That's changed the game a lot too. wink

And CRS has a new employee, Granik, redoing all the old buildings. We get a couple of new ones with almost every new patch cycle. That's helped the eye-candy value go up too, not to mention how they've affected how you play the game (multi-story and nearly all enterable). smile

I believe all the screenies in this thread are from the current version of the game. ver. 1.18.0. if that helps. wink

Anyone know if there is still a free trial happening for this game? I have been to the site and found a link to a free trial in the "getting started" section but whenever i fill in the form it gives me this message:

Your submission had errors. Please review the form below and make corrections.

however when i review the form i can find no errors at all. . . all the forums i can find are only for paying subscribers and i am not prepared to pay $20 for a cd just to give it a try to be honest. Anyone have any suggestions or should i just give it a miss?

I'm not up on the current free trial status, I do know they had one recently dunno if it is still going.

But you can Download the full client off thier website to check some of it out offline if you like.

Offline you jave all the buildings and vehicles from Destroyers to infantry tanks & planes to spawn in, but it's just you, no AI I fear.

I don't believe there's a Free Trial available at this time. Hopefully there will be another one fairly soon.

As Brasidus says, you can download and install the full Client and try it in offline mode. It's really a very simplistic mode, but it will allow you to try out the various avatars.

The game does still offer a free 30 day trial with purchase of the game itself. You can buy one of these "activation keys" at the WWIIOL homepage. You can also still find the game box very cheap in some bargain bins. It is also available at www.gogamer.com for around $5 USD. Should you (or anyone) purchase one of these older boxes, please don not install from the accompanying CD. Download and install the full client from www.wwiionline.com. I'm not certain you can actually patch from version 1.0 anymore.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask. wink

Have Fun!

Now they have to fix the problem of being able to cram 50 troops in one plane! It will really bring more strategy to the game... 14 people as apposed to 50 (although most planes sit pretty at around 30... Still you can cram 50+ in).

It really depends on the time of day. U.S. Primetime (6:00pm EST - 1:00am EST) has the most people, with Euro primetime the next busiest. The Devs don't give out the numbers though, so it's very difficult to say due to the size of teh world.

The map is a seamless half-scale representation of Europe, so it's huge. But teh battles are pretty huge also, so it's not really a concern anymore since the introduction of Attack Objectives. wink
