Our local MicroCenter store is having some "sale" prices on custom Nvidia cards. Evidence of the GPU price drop.

I assume prices will drop further. Nvidia is selling the reference model directly for the same or a bit less as noted above.

I assume AMD will drop slower because "dollar for dollar" they are better mining cards and in shorter supply. However, the cheapest RX580 I've seen is closing in on the GTX1060 pricing.
