When you don't have the big bucks to get a new system and a rift or a Vive and you want a bit of simulation (good physics and attention to detail) with your smartphone... try Ultrawings VR for Gear VR and Daydream... Amazing little flight simulator with great feeling of flying in VR... I didn't expect much and I was blown away! Sure it is not DCS, IL2, RoF, etc... but just for the feeling, it is a real blast to play! I play with the small Samsung controller and it is very fluid and intuitive.
