Star Trek - The Motion Picture followed by the 2009 Star Trek film.

Wasn't planning to watch them, caught them on TV as part of a Leonard Nimoy 'memorial'. The JJ Trek is quite frankly rubbish (though it has it's good moments) With the exception of Pine and Quinto as Kirk and Spock I thought the acting and dialogue was actually quite good (by Star Trek standards wink )

Shaky cam, lens flare and seizure lighting made the action scenes a pain to watch.

I'd never actually seen TMP in it's entirety before now, only the early scenes with the Enterprise refit.
Very underrated film, just settle back, relax and let the film play. Not exactly thrill a minute but a decent plot that builds up well. Some trippy 2001 style visuals near the end too. biggrin

Edit: Just looked it up, the same guy was responsible for 2001 and TMP http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Douglas_Trumbull
